Sunday Studio Junior Designer role

Please see below information about the design position we currently have available.

The main requirement of the role is content creation for social media. You will be responsible for the content for our Sunday Studio instagram account, as well as Facebook and Pinterest. This includes creating mockups for work completed, photographing and editing any print collateral designed by Sunday Studio, collecting imagery from a variety of sources that fits within the aesthetic of our brand, and designing ‘filler’ posts (quotes, mood boards, etc). You will also be responsible for the content creation for at least one of our regular clients social media accounts as well. A secondary aspect to the role is EDM design for a contract client. These EDMs are designed within Illustrator (or Indesign if that is your preference) based on the brand guide supplied by the client, and then uploaded to Mailchimp. Dependent on your skill level and where your design interests lie, you can also be responsible for website design and development (we primarily work with Squarespace and Wordpress), blog posts, e-book design, and branding.

The role will allow for around 8-12 hours per week. If you have the flexibility, there may be weeks where more hours are available to you, dependent on work load. Ideally I am looking for someone who is keen to grow within the business, and ultimately become full time.

This is a remote position, however I am looking to work with someone local to the Brisbane/coast regions, so that we can spend a half/full day together approximately once a month, running through the schedule and expectations for the upcoming month.

You will be responsible for setting your own hours. Tasks will be requested of you ahead of time, with a due date provided. It will be up to you to complete the task prior to deadline, however whether you choose to work all in one day, shorter hours across multiple days, or at night, is totally up to you.

You will need your own computer and Adobe Suite. Should any purchased elements be required, these will always be paid directly by Sunday Studio.

I will be keeping applications open until Friday 21st December, and then review the applicants. All applicants will be contacted by the first week of January, whether they are successful or not. A catch up will then be scheduled for early in January, with the expectation that the successful applicant will be able to start immediately.

Please let me know your expectations around a contracted hourly rate. Given the different experience and skill level of the applicants, the renumeration for this position will be guided by your expectations. Please keep in mind this is a contract role, so there will not be any leave/super entitlements. You will need an ABN, and you will be responsible for invoicing (weekly/fortnightly/monthly as per your preference) Sunday Studio for the work completed.

This role will initially be a 3 month contract, with the expectation that the position will continue indefinitely.

To register your interest in the role, please send through your portfolio (whether a PDF document, or a link to your Instagram/website), your renumeration expectations, your geographical location, and confirmation of availability for January 2019 to hello@sundaystudio.com.au. If you have already sent through this information, please consider your application submitted. If you do not wish to be considered for the role, please send an email to confirm your withdrawal. Any applicant that has not sent through the required items above by the 21st December will not be considered for the role.

Should you have any further questions at all, please send an email to hello@sundaystudio.com.au. I look forward to chatting with you further!
